GO Code

We've created a Location Identity Code to tell other people where you are or to find out where you want to go. We call it the GO Code. You can use it on the web, on your mobile, or on other personal navigation devices. Just put in the GO Code of where you want to go and a map appears showing you the way. Our web service is free for you to use any time.

Now you can let others know where you are through voice, text or email. GO Codes can be used to identify a meeting point for your friends, tell a taxi where to pick you up, let your child tell you where they are in an emergency, tell the AA where your car is broken down on a road, or find a friend’s house in the countryside. The more people using them, the more often they'll be used. GO Code - it's the gets you where you want to go code.

You can search our databases to see if your address or Point of Interest is there - we're adding to them every day. Or else use our interactive map to find the GO Code for any point on the island of Ireland.

When you've got your GO Code, you'll also be able to email the map to your friends, business associates or put it as a link on your website or email signature so people can find you. Send it to us as well so we can put it in our database.

When we launch our Go Code mobile application, you can use them when you're out and about. We're trialling them at the moment.

So what is a GO Code?

A GO Code is a 7-character code which identifies any location on the island of Ireland to an accuracy of 21 square metres. It’s easy to communicate to someone else, whether by email, text, in writing or even over the phone. For example, the GO Code for our office is L6G 56LP.
